John and his team specialize in advancing company cultures which has a large impact on risk management, loss prevention, safety and compliance.  Using the HNI developed “Boots on the Ground Strategy” which features the Day in the Life, an Organizational Assessment Process, by which the RSG Team gains extensive knowledge of how each organization operates.  John has a wealth of experience and passion for working to help clients establish proper processes, procedures, measurements and strategic initiatives that will enable them to work towards continuous improvement in loss reduction, resulting in reduced risk exposure and increased profitability for their organization.  John’s expertise includes:

EXPERIENCE

John is a senior level risk management professional with more than 30 years of experience in the transportation industry.  He began his career in operations with the world’s largest transportation company, where he held various management positions (operations, customer service, sales, engineering, and safety).  He was instrumental in introducing new service offerings, leading projects from concept to completion, as well as advising large corporations on transportation logistics.  Serving as special liaison, John called on Wisconsin Congressional leaders, lobbying on behalf of transportation.

While at a large LTL carrier, John developed an exceptional risk management team and led in the development of a number of initiatives –producing real change in company culture and ensuring that compliance was the first and foremost priority in the company.  Through the use of education, enforcement and follow-up, he pioneered an industry-leading safety culture in workers’ compensation, contractor & employee relations, recruitment and retention, fuel tax auditing and regulatory compliance. His aggressive claims management approach saved the company more than five million dollars in punitive damage suits and his cargo claims team posted one of the industry’s lowest published claim frequencies in the country

John has been an active member of the Truckload Carriers Association, Illinois Trucking Association, Wisconsin Motor Carriers Association, Machine Haulers Association and the Transportation Industry Defense Association.  He has a passion for sports and is a certified USSF Referee and an international licensed soccer coac
