Steve is the Vice President and Principal of HNI Truck Group in Inverness, Illinois.
Steve began his career in the trucking insurance industry in 1988 working for a specialty trucking insurance companies. He has served in claims, underwriting, and production capacities. In 1995, Steve and his partner Bill Prester sold their firm, Transportation Risk Management Systems (TRMS) to a large insurance broker, at which point Truck Group was created.
While affiliated with this large broker, Truck Group became the largest provider of insurance and risk management services to the trucking industry through both organic growth (utilizing the distribution network of the broker), and through the acquisition of specialized truck insurance brokers throughout the country. Steve continued and expanded his leadership and production rolls within the firm.
In 2005, Steve and Bill purchased back the Truck Group’s Schaumburg office and created a strategic partnership with HNI, Inc. to form The HNI Truck Group, LLC. He has dedicated 100% of his experience since 1988 to the Trucking Insurance industry.
Steve is actively engaged in the transportation industry as a committee member of:

- ATA’s National Accounting & Finance Counsel
- Truckload Carrier’s Association
- Several state trucking agencies
