Weight Loss Drugs
What Employers Should Know About the Drugs
and Potential Impact to Their Employee Benefits Program

What is the problem for employers?

Originally developed to treat diabetes, GLP-1 Drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound have sometimes been referred to in the media as “Obesity Drugs” because of their weight-loss effects. However, few are talking about the potential costs to health plans.

At a cost of $10,000 - $16,000 per year, these drugs could add 8-15% to health plan costs.*
