SWARMING IS FOR THE WICKEDEST PROBLEMS
Wicked Problems are the deep-rooted issues that frustrate leaders and hold companies back. Solving these problems requires change. And change is difficult.
Unfortunately, there's no 4-step process that's going to deliver you to the promised land. Game-changing ideas come from unexpected places, which is why we bring together an unexpected group of talent to swarm them.
Swarm teams are comprised of cross-disciplinary experts that bring together unique perspectives to challenge the status quo. Around our table sits experts from HR, finance, marketing, safety, compliance, and more. This brings new ideas to the forefront that 'insurance experts' could never come up with on their own.
WHY WE SWARM
There are three kinds of problems:
The first can be fixed with money. We need a new piece of machinery. No problem.
The second can't be fixed with money. These are issues of trust or judgment. Of behavior or culture. A person doesn't make better decisions just because you pay them more.
The third, of course, are wicked problems that appear that they can be solved with money, but can't. They range from hiring talented people, to fixing an unsafe culture, to using false proxies for issues yet to be discussed. It's tempting to throw resources at these problems, but this usually makes them worse in the long run.
If a problem can be fixed with money or other resources, and you can afford it, you should do so, quickly, efficiently and without breaking a sweat.
For the other kind of problems, resist searching for a shortcut and get to the heart of the matter instead.
